The Search For A Vaccine
Corona virus forced the global economy to take a severe downturn. 125 vaccines against corona virus are being developed by researches throughout the world.
For a vaccine to be successful it requires years of research and testing. With the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the researchers need to speed up the process. Few vaccine projects are funded in billions of dollars and fully supported by the U.S. government.
On 10th June 2020 Dr. John M Maris, a pediatric oncologist at CHOP, and a professor at the University of Pennsylvania discovered that by linking tools used for the development of cancer immuno-therapies, they can create a vaccine to target SARS-COV-2. Which would provide protection and long-lasting immune response to the people and can also be produced at a large scale.
On 8th June 2020 according to a paper published in the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, installing service robots to minimize human interaction and social contact. This will increase efficiency and enable a safer reopening of hotels impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Implementation of robotics into hotels is already in progress at numerous stages.
Vibhas Prasad, Director, Leisure Hotels Group noted that the approach for robotic service had already been initiated in the hospitality & catering industry even before COVID-19, so it can be a successful strategy for hotel managers.
